Travel Overland
You and your party travel over a long distance, five kilometres or more. Ironbound strongly encourages the use of five-kilometre hexes for overland travel—that is, the distance from the centre of any one hex to the centre of any of its neighbours is five kilometres.
Your party can Travel Overland for twelve hours without problems, but then must Take A Long Rest. The time required to Travel Overland depends on the terrain of the hex in question:
| Terrain | Time |
|---|---|
| Flat land and good roads | 1 hour |
| Sparse forest or rolling hills | +1 hour |
| Dense forest or steep hills | +2 hours |
| Mountains, wetlands or jungle | +3 hours |
Note that time penalties are cumulative. A dense forest (+2 hours) in rolling hills (+1 hours) would take a total of four hours to cross.
