Your character's Class defines their primary role as an adventurer. It determines the special abilities they acquire as they gain levels, the ways in which they excel, and the techniques they can bring to bear when facing challenges.

Each Class follows its own progression, granting access to new traits and abilities at specific levels. Some Classes focus on martial prowess, others on magic, and still others on skills that fall somewhere between the two.

Your choice of Class is not a restriction on what your character can attempt. All characters have access to the Universal Activities, and their Ancestry and Background provide additional capabilities. Your Class builds upon these foundations, giving you specialized abilities that distinguish your character from others.

At Character Creation: When you choose a Class during character creation, you must select one Basic trait from that Class' list. This is in addition to any other traits that the first level of that class instructs you to select.
