Gain a Level
Through practice, study, or intense experience, your character grows in power. This represents the culmination of your recent adventures and the refinement of your capabilities.
As your capabilities grow, so too does your confidence in your ability to endure. When you finish Gaining a Level, you recover all of your Stamina.
Gaining a New Class
To gain your first level in a class, you must be in a friendly community. You must spend eight hours of Down-Time completing your training, and spend 100 Experience Points (XP). You gain the following advantages:
You receive six points to distribute among your attributes. No single attribute may receive more than three points during this level-up.
You gain the normal benefits for taking the first level in the class.
Your maximum stamina increases by 2.
If your class Recovery Value is below that of your new class, replace it with your new class' Recovery Value.
Improving an Existing Class
To gain a level in a class that you already have at least one level in, you must spend an hour of Rest in contemplation, practice or study, and expend Experience Points equal to one hundred plus ten times your current level in that class.
XP Expended = (Current Level × 25) + 100
You receive the following benefits:
You receive six points to distribute among your attributes. No single attribute may receive more than three points during this level-up.
You gain one trait from the class you just advanced in. That trait may be a Basic or Intermediate trait. If you now have six or more levels in that class, you may instead select an Advanced trait. If you are gaining your tenth level in that class, you may instead select a Paragon trait.
Your maximum stamina increases by 2.
