You have learned how to pour more energy into a spell, allowing it to inflict greater damage or bypass a foe's defences.  When you [[ironbound:rules:activities:cast_a_spell|Cast a Spell]], you may use your Short action to Empower that Spell.  Choose one of the following:
  * The spell inflicts +1 damage per die of damage rolled.
  * The spell gains favour on its damage roll.
  * The target's Resistance to this spell is reduced by one die (to a minimum of zero dice).
  * The target suffers slight on their attempt to Avoid Danger, if the spell allows them to do so.
  * If the target may [[ironbound:rules:activities:shake_it_off|Shake this spell Off]], they suffer slight on their attempts to do so.


If you roll a Bad Thing on this spell, you suffer the following Bad Thing:
  * The spell's energy bleeds back into you, and you suffer one point of damage per level of the spell.
