Stealth
Stealth is a tricky feature to attempt to game, and Unbound Tales attempts an unusual solution: Uncertain location.
When a character Hides, their location may become Uncertain. This is typically the result of an explicit rule. A character whose location is Uncertain has moved under the cover of stealth, and their exact location cannot be easily determined.
If somebody successfully Searches for the Hidden character, their location becomes Fixed. A character whose location is Uncertain will have their location become Fixed when they take any action. However, they remain Hidden until the chosen action is completed.
Fixing Location
A character whose location goes from Uncertain to Fixed may move their character to any square to which they could have moved normally, if they had movement points equal to their speed. This is not actual movement, but the result of prior, unknown movement taken before the character's location was Fixed, and hence does not provoke attacks of opportunity. It also does not result in the character losing the Hidden Condition.
In the diagram below, Sir Roland (the lower token) is Hidden, and used a simple action on the previous turn to cause his location to become Uncertain. The Aruna Sorceress (the upper token) attempted to find Sir Roland, but because Sir Roland was Concealed, her attempt suffered slight, and she rolled a failure.
It is now the start of Sir Roland's turn. He has a speed of four. The highlighted radius indicates the squares within a normal move of four of Adam's un-Fixed location.
Sir Roland could also move around the corner, reaching the Aruna Sorceress. He actually remains Hidden during this movement, even though it brings him into view. However, as soon as he takes any action, he loses the Hidden Condition. But this would allow him to make a melee attack, with favour due to being Hidden.
