Illusory Object

Power: 1
Casting Time: Simple Action
Range: 10 meters
Target: One-meter area in range
Duration: Sustain Quick
Provokes: Counter Spell

You create an illusion of an object. The object must fit within one cubic meter. The object can be animated, but cannot move from its square, nor can it produce any sound. Creatures who see the object must make a Foresight saving throw against your Spellcasting skill TN.

  • Success: The creature sees through the illusion, realizing that it is not truly there.
  • Failure: The creature believes that the illusion is real.

There are a few limitations on this spell to consider. First, while one could create an illusion of a living creature, the animation of that creature will seem fake, and the creature will be silent. Because of these issues, viewers will gain favour on their saving throws.

Second, the spell cannot conceal anything within its square. If there is another object present, it may overlap weirdly with your own object. If the illusion completely covers another object, the viewer will still be aware of the concealed object, and will gain favour on their saving throw to disbelieve the illusion.

Finally, if a creature makes physical contact with the illusion, they automatically succeed their saving throw, even if they had already failed it, and any other viewers gain a new saving throw, with favour, to disbelieve.

Augmentation: The spell may cover a total of eight cubic meters, with no single dimension of the illusion being greater than four meters.
