You determine the direction the wind will blow when you perform the ritual, but cannot change it during the spell's duration. Once cast, this ritual cannot be Ended, and you cannot Cast this Spell again until the prior casting ends normally.

The most immediate advantage that this spell gives is that it will allow sailboats and sailing ships to move at their listed speed.
