Magic

Magic is the lifeblood of the extraordinary, a force that weaves through the fabric of reality itself. It is an ancient power, drawn from the primal energies of the earth, the heavens, and the unseen realms beyond. Those who can harness this force—whether through rigorous study, innate talent, or divine gift—are capable of performing feats that defy the natural order. From conjuring fire with a whisper to calling forth spirits with a gesture, magic allows its practitioners to reshape the world around them. However, this power comes with great responsibility and peril, as the misuse of magic can lead to catastrophic consequences. Magic is both a gift and a burden, a tool for heroes and villains alike, shaping destinies and altering the course of history.

In order to perform magic, your character must belong to a character class that has the ability to cast spells. You can have such a class as your primary class, reflecting a dedication to the study of magic, or you can select such a class as Hybrid Training.

Alchemy

Where magic thrives on volatility and the unpredictable whims of the arcane, alchemy offers a path paved with precision and reliability. Alchemists are not merely spellcasters wielding a different tool; they are meticulous crafters who utilize exotic materials and arcane processes to achieve remarkable transformations.

Alchemy is not built into any class, although the Savant can exceed any other class in this field. Any character can select the Alchemist General Feature.

Arcane Magic

In the world of magic, there exists a tradition that shuns the flashy and the obvious. It prefers the subtle, the understated, and the subdued. This is the Arcane Tradition. Its practitioners weave spells that are as intricate as they are potent, often working in the shadows to achieve their goals. The Arcane Tradition values precision, control, and discretion, and its spells reflect these principles. Whether conjuring powerful wards to protect their allies or summoning creatures from other planes of existence, Arcane Mages are masters of their arts, and their magic is not to be underestimated.

Divine Magic

Most of those who practice Divine Magic believe that their magic comes directly from their deity. Not everybody is convinced, however. Regardless, the faith held by the practitioners from this magic seems to be genuine, and whether it is that, or the literal hand of the divine, their spells are effective, supportive, powerful and real.

Divine magic is split into thirty-six Divinities. Every Templar receives four of these, and can gain an additional three. Their exact selection is dependant upon their choice of deity.

Natural Magic

Magical energy pulses within every living creature, from the smallest blade of grass to the mightiest beasts, and even the forces of nature—raging storms, deep earth, flowing waters—hum with power. Druids are those rare individuals who have attuned themselves to this Natural Tradition. Through study, instinct, and reverence, they learn to harness and direct the magic that surges through life itself.

Rather than drawing power from within or bending it to their will, Druids act as conduits, channeling the energy generated by life and the elements around them. This makes Druidic magic dynamic and deeply connected to nature’s cycles, allowing them to summon, protect, and unleash forces with a primal focus. Their magic is bound by respect for nature’s balance, making them caretakers of both life’s fragility and its fierce resilience.

Sorcery

Sorcery is characterized by its inheritance from supernatural ancestors, such as demons, fae or dragons. This lineage imbues the Sorcerer with unique abilities and powers that are not merely learned but are part of their very essence. Unlike traditional forms of magic that may rely on rituals, incantations, or the manipulation of natural elements, Sorcery is an innate talent, a gift passed down through bloodlines. This connection to the supernatural grants Sorcerers access to formidable forces, allowing them to wield magic that can alter reality, summon otherworldly entities, or manipulate the fabric of existence itself.

The implications of Sorcery extend beyond mere power. Sorcerers may find themselves at odds with societal norms, as their abilities can evoke fear, reverence, or envy among those who lack such gifts. Additionally, the legacy of their supernatural ancestry can lead to internal struggles, as sorcerers grapple with the expectations and burdens of their heritage. The Sorcerer must navigate the fine line between embracing their extraordinary abilities and confronting the darker aspects of their lineage.
