Persona
Requires: Trained in Deception.
You have created an alternate identity. Any documentation you might need to support this alternate identity are either forged, or obtained legitimately via fraud.
Your alternate identity—your Persona—starts with zero Prestige. When operating as your Persona, any adjustments to Prestige are applied to your Persona, not your actual identity, and you use only the Persona's Prestige. Switching safely between your Persona and your actual identity takes one minute, and you must be unobserved by anybody not already in the know. Switching identities faster, or while observed, risks compromising your Persona.
Your Persona cannot become compromised unless you take actions to compromise it yourself; it is assumed that you are clever enough to avoid leaving the sort of hints that others might need to compromise it. If your Persona is compromised, your total Prestige bonuses become equal to the higher of the two identities' Prestige bonuses, but the Director determines which Prestige categories you keep or gain.
Edward Campbell, a smuggler and pirate, creates a Persona of Count Reuben, a high-ranked noble. While Count Reuben starts with no Prestige, he can work within social circles to gain Noble Prestige, without Edward Campbell's Criminal Prestige being known.
