Attributes
Your character's attributes indicate their raw level of talent. Attributes are expressed as values from -1 to a maximum of +5. Attributes are added directly to most skill rolls, and are often rolled by themselves as well.
Score | Rating |
---|---|
-1 | Terrible |
0 | Poor |
+1 | Average |
+2 | Good |
+3 | Excellent |
+4 | Extraordinary |
+5 | Incredible |
+6 | Superhuman |
Every character has six attributes: Agility, Body, Charisma, Dexterity, Education and Foresight.
Defences
Your attributes also determine your character's defences. Attacks of various sorts will always target an attribute. For example, most physical attacks will target Agility, whereas attacks that attempt to harm the mind frequently target Charisma. Your defence with any of these attributes is equal to ten plus the attribute's bonus.
Determining Attributes
Your character's attributes all start at +0. However, the choices that you make during the character creation process will adjust these values. Usually, these adjustments will be upward. However, occasionally, they will be downward. They come from the following sources:
- Two or four from your Ancestry;
- Two from your Back-Story;
- Two from your Class.
The net change in your attributes during the character creation process will be +6. The lowest attribute a character might start with is -1; the highest is +3.
