Your early days were spent in study, learning at the direction of a great scholar. Perhaps you read of great deeds, and felt the need to emulate them, or it may be that you learned of some great injustice or horrible threat, and decided to act against it. Or perhaps the scholar under whom you studied was a powerful wizard or skilled artisan, and taught you the skills that you now use.

When you select this Back-Story, gain a +1 bonus to your Education. Then choose any other attribute, and gain a +1 bonus to it as well. You gain the ability to read one ancient language of your choice (unless you are Aruna, in which case you learn to speak that language). You also gain +1 Academic Prestige, and one training rank in Lore. You must choose a specialty for Lore, as per usual.

You have memorized a lot of facts, and some of them are right. Whenever you attempt to Recall Knowledge and roll a failure, the Director will give you two pieces of information, one of which is right and one of which is wrong. They will not tell you which is which!
