Cambion
“Isn't it amusing, the way that you mis-treat people like me, and then are surprised when we react poorly to it?”
Succubi and incubi have long preyed upon Humans, and on occasion, produce offspring that have some of their diabolical parent's nature about them. Cambion are the descendants of such unions. Their bodies are affected by their bloodline, producing horns and hooves, and frequently debilitating deformities as well. However, the Cambion also inherits a measure of their bloodline's physical power.
Due to the nature of their infernal forebears, Cambion have a natural ability to manipulate others. This stands them in good stead, as many view the Cambion as naturally evil—especially in the Central Powers of the Realms, where the churches hold the most sway. They pass their bloodline down to their children, though it does not always manifest; occasionally, a Cambion will be born to parents who had no idea of what lurked in their genetic past.
Cambion do not have their own culture, but live on the fringes of Human civilization. Some are scavengers or criminals; others manage to rise in society, despite (or occasionally because of) the prejudice that they face.
Attributes
The Cambion is physically powerful, despite the deformities they often suffer. When you select Cambion as your ancestry, increase your Body and Charisma by +1, but decrease your Dexterity by -1. In addition, select one of Agility, Education or Foresight, and increase it by +1.
Speed
The Cambion starts with a speed of four meters.
Stamina
You have inherited some of your infernal ancestor's resiliency. The Cambion starts with twenty stamina.
Language
The Cambion will learn the language of the people among whom they were raised. Choose one Human language. You speak this language, as well as Trade. You may also choose additional languages equal to your Education bonus, either spoken or written.
Gifts of the Bloodline
Your infernal heritage unlocks extraordinary powers, passed down from your diabolical forebear. Choose one of the following benefits:
Claws: Your fingers end in large, powerful claws. Your unarmed attack damage dice are d6s.
Heat Resistance: Your infernal heritage renders you proof against heat and flame. If you take Heat damage, that damage is reduced by two points per die. Your skin is a dark red in colour.
Hooves: Your feet are elongated, and end in cloven hooves instead of toes. Your gait is increased as a result, boosting your speed to five meters.
Scales: Your body is covered by fine scales, granting you a Physical Resistance of 1. (Reduce any Blunt, Impaling or Slashing damage that you take by one point per die of damage rolled.)
Tail: You have a tail that ends in a spear-like tip. Though it cannot be used to strike, it allows you to better keep your balance, granting a +1 bonus to all Acrobatics and Athletics checks.
Wings: You have a pair of leathery bat-like wings. While they are not powerful enough to allow you to fly, you never take falling damage if you are ready for the fall.
Silver Tongue
Cambions are all adept at manipulating others. Choose one of Deception, Diplomacy, Intimidation or Performance, and add one training rank to that skill.
Mark of the Devil
Cambion all sport horns of some variety, in addition to their Gift of the Bloodline. So long as your appearance is visible, you suffer slight to Diplomacy checks, and to Deception checks made to Impersonate Another.
