An object that is Broken can be repaired and put back into use. You spend an hour making repairs to an item. Make a Crafting check vs a TN of 12, suffering slight on the check if you do not have a Repair Kit on hand.

Success: The object is repaired.
Failure: The item remains Broken. Perhaps with more time, you can fix it.

Eldrin's targe was damaged during an earlier encounter, and he asks Aurelia to fix it up for him. With a +5 to Crafting, Aurelia feels confident in her chances. She rolls a 17, a more-or-less average roll, but well above the 12 she needs to repair Eldrin's shield.
