Armour

Spacecraft in the Shattered Worlds employ a composite armour made up of layers of ceramic, crystalline carbon and plastics. This non-reactive armor provides robust protection without the complications of reactive armor, which is less suited for the space environment.

For each slot of armour placed on a ship, the ship gains Damage Reduction (DR) equal to half its Linear Value. Round down only after doing the math, so that you get the most out of your fractions.

Any ship with Streamlining will require at least one slot assigned to armour.

Reinforced Hull

A reinforced hull increases the ship’s ability to withstand damage by enhancing its structural integrity. This option is typically reserved for larger military vessels, such as capital ships.

Base Hull Points: A ship starts with Hull Points equal to its Area Value.

Reinforced Hull: For each slot assigned to reinforced hull, add half the ship’s Area Value to its Hull Points.

Reinforced hulls are not common on smaller or non-military vessels, as the benefits are generally outweighed by the costs and space requirements.
