When you perform any action that requires a weapon, you may, as a free action just before starting that action, ready a weapon that will be used as part of that action. If you have the trait, Two-Weapon Fighting, you may ready two weapons, one in each hand, provided that your off-hand weapon is Light and your primary weapon is not Heavy.
