Weapons
Weapons in this system begin with their mechanical traits, not their narrative identities. When creating or selecting a weapon, the player chooses a set of properties—such as weight, reach, handedness, and any special qualities. These traits determine how the weapon functions in play. Only after the mechanical shape is chosen does the player name and describe the weapon, fitting its appearance and cultural style to the chosen properties. This allows complete freedom in flavour without affecting balance, and ensures that a character’s weapon is defined by what it does, not what it is called.
Creating a Weapon
To create a weapon, you must first choose one item from each of the categories given below, and then choose one weapon property. Each category allows only a single choice; weapon properties, however, can permit additional selections.
