Rules

The rules form the mechanical backbone of The Nexus Framework, defining how time passes, how actions are resolved, and how the game world reacts to the players’ choices. These systems are designed to be modular and adaptable—you can use them as written, or modify them to fit the tone and complexity of your own game.

Rather than dictating a specific setting or genre, the rules provide a set of consistent principles for conflict resolution, timing, and character interaction. Whether your project leans toward gritty realism, cinematic adventure, or abstract narrative play, these foundations are meant to support your design goals without limiting your creativity.
