Injured

A character who has been Injured suffers a -1 penalty to all attribute and skill checks. A character may have this status condition multiple times.

When the Injured condition is applied, the amount of damage inflicted is recorded with it. As the character recovers health, the amount recovered is subtracted from the lowest Injured value. When that value reaches zero, the Injured condition is removed. Any excess healing applies to the new lowest Injured value.

For example, Riven got rather badly mauled in his last adventure, and has Injured 7 and Injured 5. Therefore, he suffers a -2 penalty on all attribute and skill checks. He spends four days on bed rest, recovering eight points of health. His Injured 5 is reduced to zero, and is removed. The remaining three points of health reduce his Injured 7 to Injured 4, but it still applies. After four days of bed rest, he still suffers a -1 penalty to all attribute and skill checks.
