Make an Impression

Skill Check: Influence
You try to sway the opinions of a non-player character, leaving them with a favorable impression of you. You cannot do this if the subject is Enraged or Hostile. Roll Influence, with slight if the subject Dislikes you.
- Complete Success: The subject's temporary Affinity with you improves one step.
- Success: The subject's temporary Affinity with you improves one step, unless they were already Helpful or Devoted.
- Partial Success: The subject's temporary Affinity with you improves one step, unless it was already Friendly, Helpful or Devoted.
- Failure: There is no change in the subject's temporary Affinity.
- Complete Failure: You've managed to upset, insult or offend the subject, and their temporary Affinity worsens one step.
Design Notes: All changes to Affinity are temporary. Permanent Affinity improvements are at the Director’s discretion. A suggested guideline: five separate days of improving temporary Affinity may grant a permanent one-step increase, though story-based awards are preferred.
