Weaver Magic

Blocks: Channeling Magic, Empowered Magic, Scion Magic, Studied Magic

You manipulate the underlying fabric of reality itself, bending geometric patterns, ley lines, or the hidden arithmancy of the world to cast your spells. Weave Magic is deliberate, precise, and requires both preparation and focus. You cannot rely on rapid casting; each spell you cast draws upon the structure of reality and then must be allowed to “reset” before you may cast again.

Choose one of the following Disciplines:

Discipline Spellcasting Skill
Arcane Arcane Spellcasting
Primal Primal Spellcasting
Occult Occult Spellcasting

Your spellcasting attribute is Intellect. You gain one training rank in the appropriate Spellcasting skill. Choose two Power 1 spells from your chosen Discipline and add them to your list of spells known. You gain one additional spell every time you gain a level. The new spell must be chosen from your chosen Discipline, and cannot have a Power higher than your current ranks in your Spellcasting skill (after the upgrade).

Whenever you Cast a Spell, the spell’s Power is automatically equal to your current ranks in your Spellcasting skill—it is always cast at maximum potential. If the spell is of lower Power than this maximum, you may Overcharge it as high as that maximum.

Because you cannot store mana, you must gather the energy needed for the spell at the moment that it is cast. This depletes the magical energy in your area, and you will be unable to cast another spell immediately. This cooldown lasts a number of turns equal to the Power of the spell just cast.

You must have both hands free to cast, and if you are suffering an Agility penalty due to armour, that penalty applies to your Spellcasting skill as well. Since casting requires your hands to be free, you will likely need to spend part of your following turn equipping a weapon or shield if you intend to fight physically.

Example: Zyn casts a Power 4 Weave spell to fortify an area with magical barriers. Immediately after casting, he must wait 4 turns before casting another spell. During his next turn, he spends part of his action readying his sword and shield before moving.
