Early examination of a situation can lead to long-term payout, and nobody knows this better than you. Choose a creature, situation or location, and spend one minute examining it in detail. You need not have access to the creature, situation or location, but if you do not, you must have access to a library or other font of information, and you suffer slight to your skill check.

• Success: Hold 3.
• Failure: Hold 1.

Whenever you take an action that has the investigated creature, situation or location as its only target, you may spend a Hold to grant favour to that action's associated skill check. Appropriate actions include, but are not limited to:
