You don’t just act—you captivate. When you perform with style, you impress your allies, intimidate your foes, and bolster your own self-confidence.

Your Élan is Kindled by performing a daring or stylish action that impresses, surprises or entertains. When you perform any of the following actions and roll a success, you gain Élan: Balance, Disarm, Enter an Occupied Square, Feint, Frighten a Foe or Trip a foe.

Élan is binary; either it is Kindled, or it is not. While your Élan is Kindled, you gain the following benefits:

• You gain a +1 bonus to your Speed;
• Your attacks inflict +1 damage per die of damage rolled;
• You gain a +1 bonus to your passive Reflex defence.

Some special actions will cause your Élan to be Extinguished. In addition, if your location becomes Uncertain, your Élan is Extinguished. If your Élan is Extinguished, it is no longer Kindled.
