Efficient Spellcasting
Requires: Studied Magic
Your meticulous study allows you to catch mistakes before they fester into disaster. The additional time that you spend when Casting a Spell allows you to perform the spell in a safer, more efficient manner.
When you cast a Power 1 spell, reduce the total mana cost of that spell by one.
When you Cast a Spell and roll a failure, you may abort the spell. Doing so costs no mana, does not count as a failure, and no failure effects occur. The spell is simply not cast, and only the time spent attempting it is consumed.
Normal: A spell cast with a failure still costs full mana, but always receives its failure effect.
