Charge
Time Required: +1 to +4 seconds
Skill: None
You run directly at a foe, aiming to strike them with a melee attack. This is the safest way to approach a foe that has Reach. The time for this action is added to the time of any attack you wish to make.
Choose a foe and move a distance towards that target equal to your speed times the number of seconds added to your attack action, as described in the table below:
Time | Distance |
---|---|
+1 seconds | 1×Speed |
+2 seconds | 2×Speed |
+3 seconds | 3×Speed |
+4 seconds | 4×Speed |
You must move in a straight line towards your target and end your movement in the square adjacent to the target that is closest to your starting position. While Charging, your target cannot Counterattack you during this movement (though any other foes you pass may still be able to do so).
You cannot Charge if you were Prone at the start of your turn, even if you have a trait that allows you to stand up as a Free Action.
Before you declare your Charge, you may choose to Step or Walk to position yourself. However, once you begin your Charge, you have committed to ending your turn adjacent to your target. You cannot Step or Walk further during that turn, and you can only Charge once per turn.
