Attributes
A character's attributes are the numeric values that define their potential, capabilities and talents. Every character has the same six attributes.
Strength is a measure of your character's physical power and resilience. A character with a high Strength will deal more damage in combat, and can absorb more damage as well.
Agility is a rating of your character's speed reaction times and flexibility. A character with a high Agility is harder to hit in combat, and more able to avoid notice.
Dexterity gauges your character's fine motor skills, aim and precision. A character with a high Dexterity is more accurate with attacks and precise actions.
Wisdom is your character's ability to notice the world around them and draw conclusions. A character with a high Wisdom will be able to spot hazards and adapt to their surroundings more easily.
Intellect measures your character's knowledge and ability to learn new things. A character with a high Intellect will know more skills and languages at character creation.
Charisma is a rating of your character's force of personality. A character with a high Charisma will be able to charm and persuade others more easily, while being more resistant to such attempts themselves.
Scores and Bonuses
Each attribute has a score, which represents a character’s overall capability in that attribute, and a bonus, which is used in most game mechanics. Attribute scores are determined during character creation based on Ancestry, Background, and Base Class, with 20 free points available for customization.
The table below lists the possible attribute scores, their corresponding bonuses, and descriptive ratings:
Score | Bonus | Rating |

Initial Attributes
There are two methods to determine your character's starting attributes: Array and Point-Buy.
Array System
When you create your character, you may assign the following six values to your attributes, in any order you see fit:
15 | 13 | 11 | 9 | 7 | 5 |
You must use each number precisely once. Your ancestry will also modify your attributes, according to the talents and nature of each ancestry.
Point-Buy System
If you wish more flexibility in your attribute assignment, you may choose to use the point-buy system. Every attribute starts with a value of 5. You may distribute 30 points as you see fit among those attributes, but no single attribute may receive more than 10 points (for a maximum starting value of 15).
Your ancestry will also modify your attributes as per usual.
Improving Attributes
Over time, your attribute scores will improve. When you gain a level, you may distribute three points as you see fit among your attributes' scores. Whenever you increase an attribute's score, make sure to check to see if your bonus has changed. If your attribute bonus changes, it can influence many other scores on your character sheet, particularly your skills and your defences.
