Wyrmblood
The Wyrmblood were once a cult of ambitious humanoids who sought to transcend their mortal forms by infusing themselves with draconic spirits. Their experiments were bold, reckless, and ultimately flawed. While they succeeded in reshaping their bodies, gaining draconic features such as powerful jaws, sharp claws, and sinuous tails, the raw might they craved eluded them. They did not inherit a dragon’s strength, flight, or breath, but instead found themselves stranded between what they once were and what they had hoped to become.
Their unchecked greed and hubris led to the collapse of their civilization. Once a rising power, their society crumbled under the weight of their own failed ambitions. Wars, internal strife, and the inability to wield their new forms to their advantage left them vulnerable. Over generations, the Wyrmblood became a scattered and broken people, struggling to find a new purpose beyond their ancestors' folly.
Even without the vast might of their progenitors, Wyrmblood command attention. Their presence is magnetic, their voices resonant, and their eyes burn with the intensity of flame. Others see in them echoes of dragons — noble to some, terrifying to others. To stand before a Wyrmblood is to feel the pull of that ancient majesty, whether one wishes to bow, flee, or challenge it.
In their search for redemption, the Wyrmblood have uncovered a deeper connection to the very dragon spirits they once tried to harness. Though they lack the raw power of true dragons, they have learned to tap into the magic those spirits offer, channeling it in new and unexpected ways. Instead of mimicking draconic might, they are reshaping that power to suit their own needs, developing techniques and spells unique to their kind.
Now, the Wyrmblood are in the midst of rebuilding, embracing a culture of discipline, scholarship, and martial study. They have turned inward, refining their knowledge and honing their bodies in ways their predecessors never considered. While they lack agility, their force of personality is formidable, and their precise, deliberate movements have made them skilled scholars and warrior-monks. No longer driven purely by ambition, they now seek balance—between mind and body, past and future, and the mortal and the draconic.
