Zombies are known for being particularly slow, both physically and mentally. They receive only four seconds per turn to take actions.

Zombies are completely unhealing; once their body is destroyed, their spirit must finally move on to the Echoing Lands. However, they are very difficult to damage in the first place. All Zombies have Resistance 1 to all forms of damage (except Vital), and the Withered Zombie has Resistance 2 to all Physical damage. They are immune to the Bleeding and Poisoned conditions, and take no damage from Mental or Poison damage. However, they are universally weak to fire, and take three additional point of damage per die from the Burning condition.

The Withered Zombie is a more robust and intimidating form of the undead, its emaciated form betraying a strength far greater than its appearance suggests. Unlike the skeletal remains of the Decayed Zombie, the Withered Zombie retains more of its original musculature, albeit shrunken and dry, as if all the life and moisture have been sucked from its body. Its skin is a taut, leathery hide stretched over sinewy limbs, with deep crevices marking where flesh has pulled away from bone.

The creature’s face is a ghastly mask of desiccation, with lips pulled back into a permanent, grimacing sneer, exposing yellowed teeth. Its eyes, though sunken, still glimmer with a faint, malevolent light, hinting at the dark magic that animates it. The Withered Zombie’s movements, while still slow and deliberate, are more coordinated and deliberate than those of its lesser kin, suggesting a creature that, while still mindless, is held together by stronger necromantic forces.

The Withered Zombie exudes a sense of lingering death and decay, but without the overwhelming stench or the festering wounds of its lesser counterpart. Instead, its strength lies in its durability and the unnatural force that propels it forward. Though no less relentless in its pursuit of the living, the Withered Zombie displays a focused, eerie precision in its attacks, aiming with a grim determination that hints at the vestiges of a warrior’s spirit trapped within its twisted form.
