Festering Wounds
The Decayed Zombie's flesh is highly toxic, and any amount of fluid or tissue that gets into a foe's wounds will cause pain and weakness. The first time that any character takes damage from the Decayed Zombie's attack, they become Poisoned 1d4.
Slow
Zombies are known for being particularly slow, both physically and mentally. They receive only four seconds per turn to take actions.
Already Dead
Zombies are completely unhealing; once their body is destroyed, their spirit must finally move on to the Echoing Lands. However, they are very difficult to damage in the first place. All Zombies have Resistance 1 to all forms of damage (except Vital). They are immune to the Bleeding and Poisoned conditions, and take no damage from Mental or Poison damage. However, they are universally weak to fire, and take three additional point of damage per die from the Burning condition.
The Decayed Zombie is a horrific, skeletal husk animated by a malignant will. Its flesh has long since rotted away, leaving behind a patchwork of exposed bone and desiccated muscle. The creature's eyes are hollow, black pits, devoid of life. Its movements are jerky and spasmodic, as if its body is held together by little more than raw necromantic force. The stench of decay is overwhelming, and the sound of its movements is a ghastly combination of bone grating against bone and the wet tearing of desiccated tissue.
Any exposed flesh is a blackened, leathery remnant, cracked and peeling. Its limbs are often missing or broken, and its overall appearance is one of abject horror and decay.
With its mind almost completely destroyed by a combination of dark magics and self-loathing, the Decayed Zombie will lurch towards the nearest living thing and attack it without hesitation. They cannot make any complex plans, and have no instinct for self preservation. If any thoughts of survival pass through what is left of their mind, it is an earnest desire for the horror of their existence to end.
