Ancestry
A foe's ancestry does not cover only their specific species; for many foes, ancestry places them within a larger group. Foes with the Beast ancestry, for example, could range from reptiles to mammals to dinosaurs, but all are found within the Beast ancestry. Similarly, the Corporeal Undead ancestry includes creatures of all species, provided that they can be animated by the sort of unclean spirits that produces a Corporeal Undead.
Ancestry Features
Another way in which foes' ancestries vary from those of player characters is that each such ancestry lists a number of features. Some of these features have minimum level requirements that must be met; other features have attribute or feature prerequisites.
Foes receive one Ancestry feature at each level. A Level 0 foe does not receive an Ancestry feature.
