As you dance through the battlefield, your shield is always in play, protecting you from any attacker that thinks you're not paying attention. If you have a shield in hand, attacks of opportunity made against you due to your movement will automatically miss if either of the attack check's dice come up showing a one. If you Raised your Shield before moving, these attacks of opportunity will automatically miss if either of the attack check's dice come up showing a one or a two.
