Rogue

“Cleverness and guile can be as deadly as any blade in the right hands. Meaning mine.”

Not every adventurer is a combatant. There is a place for the skilled, stealthy approach. The Rogue is a talented character class, with a wide range of abilities that allow them to infiltrate, suborn and disable an area's defences.

Of course, when combat does break out, the Rogue is far from the worst in battle. They rely on stealth and dirty tricks, rather than straight man-to-man combat. But it makes little difference to the foe whether they were hacked into bits by a Warrior, or knifed in the back by a Rogue. Either way, they're still dead.

That being said, the Rogue's focus is on weakening, misdirecting or debilitating their foes, not in outright slaughter. If forced into face-to-face battle, the Rogue has little chance of surviving. Luckily, there is always some way for the Rogue to slip away.

Basic Attacks

The Rogue's capabilities in combat are not as strong, by default, as many other classes. However, many of their features grant improvements and benefits to their base attacks, rather than adding new attacks entirely.

Melee: Skill vs. Agility.

Ranged: Skill vs. Agility.

Focus

A Rogue is able to influence the battlefield by making subtle, tactical strikes designed to disrupt their foes. At the start of each of their turns, the Rogue gains one point of Focus, to a maximum equal to their Level. At the start of an encounter, the Rogue will have Focus points equal to their Victories.

When the Rogue strikes a foe and inflicts damage, they may expend one point of Focus. If they do so, the target that they struck becomes Dazed until the end of that target's next turn.

Scheme

Every Rogue has their own methodology. Some prefer to use their stealth; some use their charm; still others get by on their cleverness. Choose one of the following schemes.

Mastermind

The Mastermind relies on intellect and strategic planning to control the battlefield. They analyze enemy weaknesses, coordinate allies for optimal positioning, and execute precise strikes to exploit vulnerabilities. Their tactical insight and calculated approach make them invaluable leaders in any conflict.

Padfoot

With their silent approach and subtle manipulation, they are the ultimate agents of chaos and disruption.

Increase your Agility by +1. Choose one of the following features and add it to your character: Sneak Attack, Stealth Expert.

Scoundrel

The Scoundrel specializes in deception and intimidation, using their charisma and cunning to distract and manipulate enemies. They excel at drawing attention away from allies, feigning vulnerability to lure foes into traps, and disorienting opponents with dazzling displays of misdirection.
