Disarm

Time Required: 2 seconds
Skill: Melee weapon skill.

You attempt to remove a weapon from your foe. Make a melee or Unarmed Combat attack roll against the target's Dexterity defence.

Success: The weapon is knocked out of the target's grip, and falls to their feet.
Failure: You provoke an attack of opportunity from the target.

Many classes offer class features that improve on this very basic disarm.

“We need him alive!” Kioni draws her seax and lashes out, trying to disarm the Baron. The Baron has a Dexterity defence of 14. Kioni rolls her Blades skill, and gets a 17, knocking the Baron's dagger to the floor.
