Requires: Trained in Lore.
Time Required: 1 or 3 seconds.
Most creatures have a weakness, and you have learned to take advantage of this. You can take a one-second action and roll Lore to try to recall a specific creature's weakness. The TN for the Lore check is 20.
Success: You have remembered a vital weakness of the creature. The Director will inform you of the creatures's highest Vulnerability, or one chosen at random if the creature has two or more co-equal Vulnerabilities. If the creature has no Vulnerability, this becomes a failure.
Failure: You have at least noticed something about this creature that renders it more susceptible to damage.
After making the check, success or failure, you may take two seconds to alter your attack patterns. This might involve imbuing your weapons with the creature's Vulnerability, or planning around its weaknesses. If you take these two seconds, you gain a benefit based on the success or failure on the Lore check.
Success: All your weapon and unarmed attack damages against that creature, and any others like it, change damage types to match the creature's Vulnerability. This effect persists until the end of the current encounter.
Failure: All your weapon and unarmed attacks inflict two points of Vital damage, in addition to their normal damage, against the target creature and any others like it.
These benefits persist until you use this ability again, or until the current encounter ends.
