Sentinel

The Sentinel is a guardian forged in the crucible of responsibility and discipline. Where some charge headlong into battle or rely on sheer resilience, the Sentinel thrives on foresight, positioning, and control. Their every movement is deliberate, designed to shield allies from harm and manipulate the flow of combat in favour of those they protect. A true Sentinel knows the battlefield as well as they know themselves, reading threats before they emerge and shaping each encounter with careful precision.

Unlike the Knight, whose armour and presence inspire confidence, or the Berserker, whose sheer ferocity dominates the fray, the Sentinel embodies the principle of calculated defence. They do not merely withstand attacks—they redirect them, mitigate their impact, and ensure that their companions remain unscathed. Every shield raised, every stance adopted, and every step taken is part of a larger strategy to safeguard life and maintain tactical superiority.

Sentinels are as much thinkers as they are warriors. They analyze patterns of attack, anticipate the moves of opponents, and adjust their tactics in real time. This mental discipline translates directly into battlefield efficacy: a Sentinel can interpose between danger and their allies, absorb blows meant for others, and use defensive actions to shape outcomes with remarkable consistency. Their presence instills a sense of security, allowing more aggressive allies to take risks that might otherwise prove fatal.

Though their role is often defensive, Sentinels are far from passive. Their actions can dictate the pace and direction of battle, forcing enemies to confront their calculated defences or find themselves outmanoeuvred. The Sentinel is the living embodiment of steadfast protection: a watchful, disciplined, and reliable guardian whose value is measured not in personal glory, but in the survival and success of those they defend.
