You can transform up to one cubic meter of material per Level into any other material.  Yes, this includes gold.  However, the transformation lasts only so long as you continue to [[unbound:actions:sustain_a_spell|Sustain this Spell]].  Make a Spellcasting skill check vs. a TN of 14.
  * **Success**:  The spell may be Sustained with a one second action.
  * **Failure**:  The spell may not be Sustained.

The state of the material does not change---turning rock into water would result in ice, not liquid water.
