You create a shimmering field of force over your left arm, that functions as though it were a shield that you had [[unbound:actions:raise_a_shield|Raised]] (even if you are not trained in the use of shields).  It provides Deflection +3, Cover 1, similar to a round shield, but does not occupy a hand, and has no Load.  It is not an actual physical shield;  it does not fulfill the requirement of any feature that requires that you be using a shield.  You cannot Shield Bash with this shield.
