For a brief time, you can see the glow of magical energy.  This glow can be seen in either light or dark, though it does not illuminate anything, but is blocked by anything else that blocks line of sight.

If you have two training ranks in your Spellcasting skill, you can see which Tradition the magic represents, or if it is Sorcery.

If you have three training ranks in your Spellcasting skill, you can see the Level or Power of the magical effect.

If you have four training ranks in your Spellcasting skill, you can see the College, Path, Divinity or Bloodline of the effect.

If you have five training ranks in your Spellcasting skill, and the Tradition of the spell matches your own Tradition, you can identify the precise spell that created the magical effect.
