====== Forge a Document ====== **Time Required**: 1 hour\\ **Skill**: Crafting //or// Deception\\ **Requires**: A [[unbound:equipment:kits:forgery_kit|Forgery Kit]] or Diplomat's Kit You can attempt to create a false document. Roll the //lower// of your Craft and Deception skills. The value that you roll becomes the TN for others to determine that the document is, in fact, a forgery. Another character who wishes to verify the forged document must take a complex action to examine the document. They then roll an appropriate skill (Lore and Society are good examples) vs. the established TN for the document. ===== Equipment ===== Both the Diplomat's Kit and the Forger's Kit contain the materials needed to create documents. However, the Diplomat's Kit is not optimized for forgery. You //must// have an appropriate kit to even attempt this action, but if you are using a Diplomat's Kit, you suffer slight to the attempt. Creating a forgery consumes 5sp of materials from the kit. The fact that //nobody// in their party is any good at Deception is starting to be a real problem, and Aurelia swears she'll learn something about it at some point. Regardless, the document they'd created, proving that they had an audience with the Baron, had a roll of 7 total. Luckily, the guard they have to present it to is not well educated. Unfortunately for them, he rolls a 9, and sees through the forgery. As the guard summons reinforcements, the party realizes that violence is now their only option...
