====== Armour ====== Spacecraft in the Shattered Worlds employ a composite armour made up of layers of ceramic, crystalline carbon and plastics. This non-reactive armor provides robust protection without the complications of reactive armor, which is less suited for the space environment. For each slot of armour placed on a ship, the ship gains Damage Reduction (DR) equal to its Linear Value divided by five. Round down only //after// doing the math, so that you get the most out of your fractions. Any ship with Streamlining will require at least one slot assigned to armour. ===== Reinforced Hull ===== A reinforced hull increases the ship’s ability to withstand damage by enhancing its structural integrity. This option is typically reserved for larger military vessels, such as capital ships. **Base Hull Points**: A ship starts with Hull Points equal to its Area Value. **Reinforced Hull**: For each slot assigned to reinforced hull, add half the ship’s Area Value to its Hull Points. Reinforced hulls are not common on smaller or non-military vessels, as the benefits are generally outweighed by the costs and space requirements.
