**Requires**:  You were missed by a melee attack\\
**Time Required**: By Weapon, -1 second

A foe that attacks you must open themselves up to counter-attack;  it is part and parcel to the dance of blades, and you have learned to take advantage of it.  If you were attacked and missed by a foe since the end of your last turn, you may //as your first action on your turn// [[legacy:rules:basic_attacks|make a basic attack]] against that foe.  The basic attack requires one less second to perform, and you take a +1 bonus to your attack roll.
