This skill is essential for managing horses, oxen, and other domesticated animals, whether for travel, labour, or combat. Characters with the Animal skill are adept at recognizing an animal's needs, moods, and behaviours, allowing them to respond appropriately to situations such as calming a frightened mount or coaxing a stubborn draft animal to work. Those skilled in Animal also possess knowledge of animal care, from feeding and grooming to handling injuries or illness, making them invaluable to anyone who relies on animals for travel, trade, or battle.
