====== Make a Request ====== **Time Required**: 1 minute\\ **Skill**: Varies You make a request of the subject. This might be a plea for aid, a request for an item or asking permission to do something. Roll [[legacy:skills:Diplomacy]], [[legacy:skills:Deception]], [[legacy:skills:Intimidation]] or [[legacy:skills:Society]] vs. the subject's passive Will defence. If you choose to use Deception, your opponent may use the higher of their passive Will defence or their passive [[legacy:skills:insight|Insight]]. Your roll is modified by the subject's temporary [[legacy:rules:affinity|Affinity]], but a character cannot Make a Request of a creature that is Hostile or Enraged. In addition, the nature of the request will modify your Skill check. ^Condition ^ Modifier ^ |The request would be trivial for the subject to grant | +3 | |It would be in the interest of the subject to grant the request | +4 | |The request would be difficult for the subject to grant | -3 | |Granting the request would not be in the subject's best interest | -4 | |Granting the request would cause the subject harm, or significant risk of harm | -8 | * **Success**: The subject grants the request. * **Failure**: The subject either refuses, or they respond with a request of their own. **Special**: If you used Intimidation on the attempt, the subject's temporary Affinity towards you drops one step immediately upon completing this action. **Special**: If you are using Society, you suffer slight on your attempt to Make a Request. ===== Equipment ===== No special equipment is required to Make a Request. However, if you are using Diplomacy in the attempt, you may expend [[legacy:equipment:consumables#Luxury Items]], to a maximum of 15sp, to improve your chances.
