====== Noble ====== Nobles are those born into wealth and power, raised in an environment of privilege and influence. From an early age, they receive the finest education, are surrounded by luxury, and enjoy social standing far above the common folk. However, the responsibilities of nobility vary greatly from one family to another. Some nobles take their duties seriously, using their wealth and authority to improve the lives of their subjects, ensuring prosperity and stability. Others, however, see their status as nothing more than a means to indulge in excess, hoarding riches and exploiting those beneath them. Regardless of their family's reputation, nobles are almost always afforded opportunities that others can only dream of. {{ :legacy:characters:background:noble.jpg?400|}}Your character is not the heir to the noble title, which means they were not raised with the same burdens of leadership and expectation as their eldest sibling. While they may still enjoy the privileges of their rank, they do so with a measure of freedom that an heir would not. Many such nobles take up roles in politics, the military, or the priesthood, securing influential positions without the weight of a title. Others, however, chafe at their limited prospects, knowing that they will always be second to their elder sibling. Whether out of boredom, frustration, or a genuine desire to forge their own path, some noble-born individuals turn to a life of adventure. It is a rare noble who chooses such a path, as few willingly leave behind the comforts of high society for the dangers of the unknown. Those who do often come into the adventuring life well-prepared in some ways but woefully lacking in others. They typically have access to excellent training in swordplay, strategy, and diplomacy, as well as high-quality equipment that sets them apart from common mercenaries. Yet, despite these advantages, they often lack real-world experience. A noble may be able to recite military doctrine from memory or discuss philosophy at length, but the first time they sleep on the cold ground or go without a hot meal, they realize how little their upbringing has prepared them for hardship. For those nobles who endure the trials of adventure, however, the rewards can be great. Some find a purpose beyond the confines of their family's expectations, proving themselves through bravery, cunning, or leadership. Others discover a love for the freedom that the adventuring life provides, far removed from the rigid structures of courtly life. And some, whether by choice or necessity, carve out their own legend, forging a new destiny that has nothing to do with their birthright. Whatever their motivations, noble adventurers walk a path that few of their kind dare to tread---one that will test them in ways no amount of privilege ever could. ===== Features ===== **Stamina**: A Noble begins play with 15 stamina, plus an amount equal to your Strength bonus. **Recovery Dice**: When you select Noble as your background, you gain two ten-sided dice (2d10) as Recovery dice.
