====== Batch 2 ====== Back to [[brewing:log|log]]. **Intent**: Oatmeal porter. ===== Grain Bill ===== * 1350g 2-row barley malt. * 900g Munich malt. * 450g Chocolate malt. * 450g Flaked oats. ===== Process ===== Strike water was 70\[de]C. Dropped to 68\[de]C after adding the grains. Kept it between 65\[de] and 70\[de] throughout a one-hour mash---mostly between 65\[de]C and 67\[de]C. Specific Gravity before fermenting is 1.039. Batch turned sour. I suspect I didn't sterilize hard enough. Had to dump it. Oh well. Live and learn.
