In the realm of mysticism and wonder, alchemy holds a sacred place. This ancient practice weaves together threads of science, magic, and philosophy to unlock the secrets of transformation. Alchemists seek to harness the fundamental forces of nature, bending reality to their will. With crucibles and retorts, they coax hidden potential from base metals and herbs, crafting elixirs that grant vitality, transmute materials, and even manipulate the fabric of time and space.

This section delves into the core principles of alchemy, a science as much as an art. We’ll explore the fundamental theories that underpin this practice, the tools and reagents employed by alchemists, and the guaranteed effects of their creations.

===== Alchemical Formulae =====

Every concoction that an alchemist might prepare requires a [[unbound:magic:alchemy:formulae:formulae|formula]]. The formula includes the ingredients and the instructions to prepare one form of a specific type of concoction.

When you first gain the [[unbound:features:general:alchemist|Alchemist]] feature, you gain knowledge of four Complexity 1 alchemical [[unbound:magic:alchemy:formulae:formulae|formulae]] of your choice. If the formulae you select offer multiple forms, you must choose the form that you learned to create.

Whenever you spend Milestones to gain an Upgrade, you may choose to learn one additional alchemical [[unbound:magic:alchemy:formulae:formulae|formula]]. This represents your ongoing study and experimentation in the field of alchemy. You cannot learn an alchemical formula whose Complexity is higher than your training bonus in Crafting.
