====== Gather Information ======

**Time Required**:  One hour\\
**Skill**:  [[unbound:skills:diplomacy|Diplomacy]] (Untrained)\\
**Requires**:  You are in a community

You spend some time talking with locals and attempting to learn something about the area.  This can be used to collect rumours, learn information about local figures, or find out about available jobs.  This is treated as a [[Recall Information]] check, but uses the [[unbound:skills:diplomacy|Diplomacy]] skill, and can have any of the following additional modifiers.

Don't be surprised if the Director requests that you explain, in detail, how exactly you managed to find that information!

===== Equipment =====

No special equipment is required to Gather Information.  However, you may expend [[unbound:equipment:consumables#Luxury Items]], to a maximum of 15sp, to improve your chances.  The amount of gift items you spread out determines the bonus you receive for doing such, as described below.

Information about the Baron's true identity is not only rare, it's also being suppressed, so the TN to discover this information is a total of 22.  Both Aurelia and Aria decide to spend four hours each trying to determine who exactly the Baron is.  Four hours reduces the TN to an 18---still on the high side.

Aurelia rolls a 17, and unfortunately, while she finds some promising leads, they fail to pay off.  Aria rolls a 14, but as she is a Gnome, her player Emily invokes her [[unbound:ancestry:gnome#ingenuity|Ingenuity]], and rolls one more die.  It comes up showing a nine, making her a total roll an 18---exactly what she needs.  At the Director's prompting, Emily explains that the documents in which the Baron's name were recorded had been torn out and burned, but the pages below still contained the imprint.
