Once a collection of independent city-states renowned for their strategic locations and rich heritage, the region's transformation into a unified kingdom is a testament to its resilience and adaptability.

The collapse left a power vacuum, and amidst the ensuing chaos, the Governor of the province of Sarpentis seized the moment to assert autonomy. Declaring independence, the Governor established himself as Thuron I, King of Sarpentis, marking the beginning of a new era for the region.  

It would be easy to write Thuron I off as an opportunist, but commentary from some of his contemporaries indicate that he was genuinely concerned about the possiblity of anarchy within the province.  It is recorded that he continued to send reports back to Tarquinia that all was well within his province, even as he reorganized it into a kingdom, and by the time Tarquinia's spies found out what he was up to, the Empire was already breaking up.

Today, the Kingdom of Sarpentis stands as a beacon of heritage and unity. The kingdom's capital, Sarpentis, is a bustling hub of activity, its grandeur reflecting its historical significance.
