====== Track a Creature ======

**Skill**:  Survival (Trained).\\

You can attempt to follow a creature's tracks.  This is a two-step process.

First, you must [[legacy:rules:actions:Search]] for the creature's tracks.  The TN to spot the tracks is 10, but if the creature was taking pains to cover its tracks, add its total [[legacy:skills:Stealth]] skill bonus to this.  If you fail in this attempt, you cannot track the creature.

Once you find the creature's tracks, you may attempt to follow them.  Make a [[legacy:skills:survival|Survival]] skill check against a TN of 10.  Again, if the creature was taking pains to conceal its tracks, add its total Stealth skill bonus to this TN.  On a success, you may track the creature for a distance equal to half a kilometer times your speed.  At the end of this distance, you must roll Survival again to continue tracking.  This movement is considered to be [[legacy:rules:actions:Travel Overland]] at half your speed.

If you lose the track, you may attempt to Search for the tracks again. However, you only get one chance to Search per attempt. If you fail any Search check to find tracks---whether at the outset or while tracking---you cannot continue following the creature.
