====== Convince Another of an Untruth ======

**Skill**:  Deception

You can talk another being into believing a false statement.  This is a Deception skill check vs. the target's passive Insight, with a modifier to your roll according to the table below.

|The lie is simple, well thought out, or very hard to fact check  |  +4  |
|The lie is somewhat complex or not entirely believeable  |  +0  |
|The lie is very complex or hard to believe  |  -4  |
|The lie flies in the face of known facts  |  -8  |
|The subject wants to believe the lie  |  +4  |
|The subject has reason to be suspicious of the liar  |  -6  |
|Per each failed Deception roll prior  |  -2†  |
†Cumulative penalty until the end of the current encounter.

  * **Success**:  The mark buys your lie.
  * **Failure**:  The mark is not convinced.  As mentioned in the table, you suffer a -2 penalty to any further attempts on this action until the end of the encounter.
