Those who survive an attack or slay a dragon themselves carry the curse and the gift of this primal force, which slumbers deep within them. The dragon's spirit, once a terror of the skies, leaves a trace in their blood, dormant until the day it stirs. It is passed on to their descendants, sometimes fading away over time, but other times, awakened by a terrible trauma or exposure to powerful magics.
